Workshops

We've decided to have the workshops in person, not just online. I'd like you to each load 2-3 poems into the appropriate Google Doc workshop folder by 9am on the day it's due. Please label each poem with your name and a title. Then we will meet at 10:30 on those mornings, at the Hemingway Center classroom. Please either print the poems or bring your laptops so you'll have everyone's poems in front of you.

The workshop folders can be found here or in the schedule from week to week.

So to start us out, by 9am on February 13 (the first workshop), you should post 2 or 3 poems into the Workshop #1 folder. I only require 2, but please remember that you will be required to submit 15 poems for the portfolio at the end, and there are five workshops, so if you want feedback on all of the poems you're going to work on, you'll have to submit 3 poems for each workshop. We have workshops every other week, so I expect you to be working on 1 or 2 poems a weeks for the duration of the course.

This is a revision course, so you should bring in poems that you've already written and want to polish, but it's also okay now and then to bring in new poems that you'd like feedback on.

You will be required to write comments on each others' poems, which I will check and grade on Monday afternoons. So on February 13, for example, you will post your poems by 9am, and you should comment on your classmates' poems by 1 pm the same day.

Please post any questions you have about this process into the comments below.
